Program Roadmap
Prerequisite
For successful implementation, it is highly recommended that site leadership complete Preparation & Implementation training prior to prospective mentors completing Mentor Training.
Audience
This training is designed for:
- Those assigned the role of Check & Connect® mentor
- Those interested in Check & Connect® mentoring principles and practices
- Check & Connect® site coordinators who oversee the implementation
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn about and understand the:
- Core components and elements of Check & Connect®
- Role and expectations of the Check & Connect ®mentor
- Population of students they are mentoring and how to best meet their needs
- Implementation procedures for "Check" and "Connect" with fidelity
- Competencies and skills needed to be an effective mentor, such as:
- Building relationships with students, families, and school personnel
- Using data to determine interventions
- Problem–solving
- Engaging with families
Format Options
- Online Training: Learn at your own pace with flexible, self-guided online modules that fit your busy schedule.
- In-Person National Trainings: Participate in an open-enrollment training and connect with other learners from around the world.
- Onsite Training: Bring one of our Implementation Specialist to your site for hands-on, personalized training designed around your team’s needs.
Online Mentor Training
The self-paced online version of this training includes:
- 3.5 hours of on-demand video
- Exclusive downloadable resources
- C&C Implementing with Fidelity Manual
- Participant Guide
- Certificate of completion
Self-paced Mentor Training
- Step 1: Register
- Register for the self-paced training on the Check & Connect website.
- Step 2: Materials
- Materials including the Implementing with Fidelity Manual and Participant Guide will be shipped to you and arrive within 2-7 business days of registering.
- Step 3: Password
- Within 3 business days of registering, you will receive an email invitation to create a password to access training.
- Step 4: Learn
- Your password to access the training will expires 4 weeks from the date registered.
In-Person National Mentor Training
The in-person training includes:
- In-person training by Check & Connect® Implementation Specialist
- Two full days of training over consecutive days (12 hours)
- Access to exclusive resources
- C&C Implementing with Fidelity Manual
- Participant Guide
- Certificate of Completion
