Young people benefit from a strengths-based approach to goal setting and planning. In this session, attendees will learn how “person centered” practices lead to increased participation in the community (valued social roles). Attendees will also learn how elementary concepts of “important to” and “important for” are valuable components of youth development. We will share ideas about how best to match an individual’s skills and interests with short and long term goals. Attendees will also complete a “one-page profile” of their own.
