This session will provide an overview of the data collected on 63 youth in juvenile justice who participated in a Check & Connect mentoring program from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Qian will share longitudinal information on the attendance, suspension, and academic performances of these students, as well as interview data from students and their caregivers. She will include lessons learned from the project based on data from focus groups with key stakeholders (mentors, non-profit organizations serving justice-involved youth, school personnel, and parent advocates).
