This session will provide an overview of the Student Engagement Instrument (SEI), the administration and scoring procedures, and how to use SEI scores to identify students and select interventions. Participants will learn how affective and cognitive engagement are measured and the differences between the SEI and SEI-Elementary. Presenters will explain how to administer and score the SEI at the school and individual student level. Participants will then learn how to use total scores to select students for Check & Connect and how to use subscale scores to determine the most appropriate interventions to increase student engagement.
